Black Swamp Photos

I took these photographs today while on a photograph trip around Ohio. These photos are from Crane Creek Nation Wildlife Preserve Park and from The Ohio Black Swamp. The very last photo is of my hubby. Mosquitos were HUGE (as you can see from the bites in the photo. The photo is showing 2 bites on his head. They were the size of quarters)

I have recently tried out a few new uploading sites. I have always been a faithful Photobucket user, but they have just been to “myspacey” lately. Too much crap, graphics that tons of teenage users have found off the internet, too much britney spears for my taste, so i started to check out some other uploading sites, that dont cater to the myspace generation. I know, I have myspace accounts, but my pages are not filled with teenage crush crap such as the so popular (though I am not sure why britney and kobe bryant).

So anyways, I trailed on over to Flickr.com (thanks to a good recommendation from Leo the tech guy!!!) and I have to say, I wasnt looking forward to making a change. I have used PB for years now. And I am not one that is big on change. So I got the account set up, and then kinda put it on the back burner. I have toooooo many photographs already stored in photobucket. What a job it will be to move em, so I will do it later….. later turned into weeks, then a month or two went by… I was still at Photobucket. Still signing in, uploading photos, and thinking to myself “why not upload new ones to flickr??” Yet, I still photobucketed. (is that a word?)

Then today while spending the day shopping at flea markets for antiques, My hubby was listeing to The Tech guy pod cast on the Ipod and he was talking about yet another “new” photosharing site and it sounded good, so I went and checked it out.  I wasnt too impressed, but after months and months… i made a decision…In the end, I started the transition from PB to Flickr. and I have to say I am impressed and I think I am going to love it. I am going to slowly start to weed out Photobucket, although it will take awhile since i have 4 accounts, FILLED to the rim with brim, er, photographs and projects.

I am going to be straight flickr from now on. Now, I have to admit, the whole “upgrade for $25 a year if you want more room and more extras) kinda set me back, but the standard acct is free. And if I like it, and i think it is worth the $25 smackers, I will upgrade. I def recommend it. Even for just the free account, which is all I have now. When (and yes, I am sure I will be upgrading… I upload too much to often to only be allowed 2 gigs) anyways, when I upgrade I am sure I will have an update on that service.

So for all you photobucket loving users, try out Flickr.com
I have a feeling a lot of ppl are going to make a transition from PB to here. I havent really…  navigated around too much, but from what I have seen, its more photographs than teenage pritney and justin timberlake graphics… and that was a plus for me. I want more of a photography enviorment than just a place to put up a graphic of a talking shoe stepping in cow dung…. JMO

Update: Been out of commission

I realize this blog never jumped off the ground. Life has been hectic and computer problems have made me a little less than capable to update, add new photos, and just blog in general. I am happy to say that is no longer the case, and I have TONS of new stuff to add and to finally get this blog off the ground.

I was in the process of changing over from XPOZED PHOTOGRAPHY to Photography by Amanda and had to change all the “trademarks” on all my photos, while trying to update my photography webiste, and myspace page for my photography, so life has been pretty busy here of late.

On top of that, I have been busy working on my portfolio for a calendar/puzzle company for a freelance job. So while this has sat idle, my photography hasnt! But all that will change.

So stay tuned for all the photographs that I will be adding here in the next day or two.
